BIRTH CERTIFICATE

When Steve Sr. sent for Štefan in 1921 they needed proof of his identity.  Here is a photo of a certificate of his birth and baptism (click on the image for larger view- click a second time and it will be large enough to read). It was signed in Drahovce on July 2^nd 1921 by Jozef Reray, the Parish Administrator.

It is written in two languages.  First is Latin, the language of the Roman Catholic Church, followed by Slovak. Below is a translation.  The underlined words were written in ink into the space provided on the form.  Some of the lines on the form were left blank.
